Jenna's SpaceAugust 27 This is WeirdSo this is my first blog post ever and it seems weird writing something that no one or anyone could read, but here goes. I was going to start this last weekend after I got back from my trip to Ocean Shores so that is where I will start. Since I have lived in Seattle my whole life I have visited the coast almost every year and a summer just doesn't seem complete with out a trip to the beach. Don't let the word beach fool you though there is no need to pack your bikini unless you plan to swim at the indoor pool at your hotel. You would be much wiser to dust off your jacket and bring that instead (yes even in August) the beach is just cold and windy no matter how nice it is other places. There are a few brave souls mostly kids that actually play in the water, but I am not one of them. So in the spirit of saving the worst for last I will start with the highlights of my weekend.
Mopeds Day One
After you get over the initial fear this is a blast. After two years of doing this I was still a little nervous when I first got on but you get over it quickly and soon I was zipping along the beach at speeds up to 35mph (don't laugh it seems really fast). This is so much fun and way better than the horses which are lame.
Miniature Golf
Why does this make my highlight list? Because I kicked ass that's why. I was in the zone. I won't mention the score so as not to embarass the other involved party. It's always fun when you win.
The Casino
It's small but there are enough slot machines to keep me entertained for a few hours.
The Beach
Not much else to say I love walking on the beach. We even found a whole sanddollar.
Now for the lowlights of the trip.
Traffic
It was terrible on the way there and the way back almost solid traffic from Seattle to Olympia.
Mopeds Day Two
Day two started out way cooler outside than the first day. We thought about givivng the four wheelers a try, but drove out to the track and it didn't look like as much fun so we went back to the mopeds. It was kind of foggy down on the beach which made it hard to see so no cruising along at top speed. Also the fog left a fine mist on everything so I kept trying to wipe off my sunglasses but couldn't because my shirt and pants were wet also.
Poker
So I just started playing poker a couple of month ago and I usually do ok when playing with friends, but the casino is another story. After winning a fairly large pot on trip 10's I proceeded to lose everything fairly quickly. I will keep working on it. Poker in the casino is pretty intimidating.
So that's it the good and bad of my summer beach trip.
